how come when im looking at stereo power amps alot of them don't tell you the rms wattage at 8 ohms it just tells you like 7oow per channel at 2 ohms and 500w at 4 ohms and thats it.

What stereo amps are you looking at? Most amps for "normal" home systems are rated at 8 Ohms. 500 at 4 Ohms is probably around 250-300 at 8 Ohms.

i'm looking at behringer and other brands and alot don't say anything for 8 ohms just 2 and 4.

You might want to download the owner's manuals of the amplifiers you are considering. Behringer includes 8 ohm ratings there.

For home theater or other applications? Behringer tends to build stuff for pro audio, not home theater, though their stuff and others who make proaudio stuff does sometimes end up getting used in HT applications, like the BFD (Behringer's Feedback Destroyer).
