Stereo keeps shutting off

Can anyone PLEASE tell me why my home stereo keeps turning off by itself?

I used to be able to play it at some serious sound levels. But recently, well, within the last couple of days to about a week, if you turn it up more then whisper quite, it just turns off by itself.

It seems to be something to do with the subwoofers. Only because songs with little to no bass can be turned quite a bit more. Then when the bass does kick in or another song with lots of bass comes on, it just shuts off, the ENTIRE system, cd deck, amp, tuner, EVERYTHING... I tried centering the speakers, thinking maybe more power was going to one sub then the other, causeing it to shut off. But that didn't work. I re-wired it, stripped the wires and tried it again, same thing.

I need mucho help here.

Thanks for anyone that DOES help!

Well, if you have a powered sub, I don't see why that would turn the receiver off.
Have you made any changes to setup? Something is causing a load that it cannot do at the levels you want. You may need to check everything. Maybe someone else changed something?
