I currently have a Yamaha HTR 5490

If you use two sets of main speakers, the impedance of
each speaker must be 8 Ω or higher.
Center
The impedance must be 6 Ω or higher.
Rear Center
The impedance must be 6 Ω or higher.
Rear
The impedance of each speaker must be 6 Ω or higher.
If you use one set of main speakers, the impedance of

If you use two sets of main speakers, the impedance of
each speaker must be 16 Ω or higher.
[Canada model only]
Right

I have 4 Polk Audio M10 - quoted at 8 ohms per speaker although Ohms Meter puts the speakers closer to 4 Ohms

I have 2 JBL Loft 40 quoted at 8 Ohms per speaker

and One Polk Audio CSR Center Channel Speaker quoted at 8 ohms although Ohms Meter puts speakers to 4.8 Ohms

For some reason I couldn't post the specs of my amp or speakers

thanks

Nick

Leave the impedance switch at 8 Ohms for all of these speakers.

Also the reason your measurement with a meter differs from what the manufacturer specification lists is because when it comes to speakers they are showing an overall impedance which is much different than something purely resistive like.. a resistor. Using a meter is an easy way to test if the voice coils are bad or not but it will not give you much information beyond that.

I was also concerned weahter or not the specs of my Speakers meet the specs of my Amp for example frequency response and relative power of the Amp

I was advised to hook up my 2 of my polk audio M10's into a series (meaning that I would have 2 speakers on the left and right for the rear input for example)

Also My amp has been shutting off frequently and is currently being repaired

I see one center channel and six other speakers. How do you have those six connected?

If your amp keeps shutting down, sumptin ain't right.

I haven't actually had all of these speakers connected at once

There is 5 separate speaker outputs - A (Main) B (Aux) Center and Rear

I originally had 2 of the Polk Audio M10's hooked up on the main speaker output on the Amp and the other 2 Polk audio M10's on B (which I used a wireless rear speaker kit)- and also tried the second set of speakers on the Rear output and then tried one set on just the main speaker output

Tried both the left and right impedance switches on these setups - the longest time I had it working was about 5 hours

In most cases the Amp would shut off

I'm currently waiting for my JBL Loft 40's in the mail - I have the Polk Audio CSR center channel speaker but haven't used it yet

What speaker switch is that. If you're using that, I's suspect either that or is' somehow wired incorrectly.

IIWY, I'd just wire your speakers directly to your receiver. You ARE using it in a multi-channel HT mode, right?

Again, what speaker switch is that?

Just my $0.02
Forget about the 'B' channel and set it up as 5.1 and see if you have any issues.
Post with how you make out with that configuration and we'll take it from there.
This also assumes you've checked all your connections for single wire strands shorting to anything...
