I hope someone can help me with several questions:

1. I have a new ONKYO 875. It has a feature of Bi-amping. I have four front speakers M&K S-150thx. Can I use the Bi-amp feature to drive (2) sets of fronts(for stereo/music). You may not be familier with the 875 amp, but it reduces the 7.1 capability to 5.1 using the fronts and surr back in the bi-amping ( I know it is not intended for driving 2-sets of speakers).

This leads me to my next question:

2.Which type speaker is the most optimum for channels in DTS and Dolby "surr back " or "surrounds". I have a dipole/or tripole speaker set. Which would you choose for surround channels? Dipole for surround or Surr Back? Good front speakers for surround or surr back?

I am sure yall think I am nuts but on to my last question:

3. With recievers that have only one pre-out for a power subwoofer, whould there be any advange to have (2) subs> I guess you would have to spilt the one pre-out to left and right?

Please some humor me at least.

Hey, Harrison. I'll get it a try. To answer your questions:

1. If the 875 is sending full range signals from both set of speaker jacks, then I'd say that you could certainly run two sets of front speakers.

2. I'll pass on this one. I use monopoles.

3. The one versus multiple sub question has come up before, but it's not related to having only one pre-out. You can certainly use a splitter and send a signal to two subs. The pros/cons of using two subs have been discussed in other threads here. I'd suggest doing a quick forum search for that. There might be some discussions at the Tips and Tricks section for bass here: http://www.audioholics.com/tweaks/get-good-bass/.

1. If the bi-amp connection gets same signal as the primary connection, there should be no issues.

2. Use what works best for you. If you will primarily be in the sweet spot and don't care much for sound in other seating locations, go monopoles. If you need to cover a large listening area, get multipoles.

From the Axiom site,

Although SACD or DVD-Audio recordings are mixed using direct-radiating speakers all around, Axiom's double-blind tests have shown that Quadpolar QS8 surrounds deliver a more generous listening area at different locations in the room. If you are in the "sweet spot," our double-blind tests also showed that listeners weren't able to discern any significant differences in multi-polar or direct-radiating surrounds with SACD or DVD Audio.
