Are there any DVD's of the un-adjusted Star Wars movie? I hate that they went back and added gratuious special effectsa and poltical correctness to the original 3 episodes.

Any word if they're coming to Blu-Ray?

No, the DVDs are only the modified versions. If you want the unaltered originals, they are only on VHS and LD. I have heard conjecture that if they come out on Blu, they are going to include both versions.

Thanks Adam. It's too bad they don't come in DD. I just can't really stomach the changes they made to those movies.

D'oh, I take that back, I do recall the last time they RE-RE-released them, they included the original COMPLETELY unaltered versions (thus the old soundtracks) along with the remastered versions, though it sold as a complete set with both AFAIK.

Oh, it's DD, my friend. Just 2.0 DD. :D

I completely agree with you. I'd like to have the original plot and content, but have the remastered audio and video. One theory is that George is just trying to get more money by putting out yet another version of the movie, only to then release the original remastered movie on DVD (or whatever) later for even more money. However, I can see the point of putting out the unaltered, unremastered original theatrical version. After all, if he put out the remastered originals, people could still say, "hey, those aren't the originals!"

They should just put out the remastered originals. I mean when did remaster mean adding content and completely altering scenes with CGI? I mean the coolest thinga about the 3 originals was the lack of cgi. Everything had depth and texture. The redone versions, like the new prequels look way too cartoonish to me. There's something special about blowing up an actual model of a tie fighter than just drawing it on a computer.

I espcially hate the cantina scene where Solo croaks the alien at the table. The redo has the alien drawing the gun first to somehow justify Solo croaking him. it just pisses me off. Between that and Jar Jar the Jamaican , the sudden emergence of Jedi's having superhero style power, the stupid childish dialogue, and the Trade Guys who sound like my 10 year old neighbor trying to mimic a bad Asian accent, I pretty much feel insulted by Lucas and have a hard time giving him anymore of my money.
