I am thinking about buying a Star Sound SSW 2000

Specs:

8"
Maximum Watts: 300W
RMS: 150W
4 oomi
Frequency responce 45 - 1500 Hz (the fact that it can go only down to 45 scares me)
Sensativity: 87 dB

Or maybe a Star Sound SSW 3000, but thats like 500W.

Oh and I cant afford anything better at the moment and I live in an appartment, soo I dont see any point in buying a massive sub. You know disturbing the peace and sh*t like that.

Anyway tell me what you think.

How much can you spend?

Watts refers to how much the speaker can handle. Most quality subs can handle as much power as your car can produce to power an amp. In other words, you are not going to find an amp with "too much power" for subs running off a cars stock electrical system. I wouldn't over-do-it on one 8". If it were me, I would go with the 10".

If you are only going to use one sub, make sure you get a 4ohm SVC, or a 2ohm DVC.

I am not going to buy anything off the internet, but only from my local shop (my friend can get stuff cheper there;) ) and I cant afford that because I need an amp too, because I am not going to use it in my car, but in my appartment in my computer.

Looks like the 2000 is out of stock, maybe I'll go with the Star Sound SSW 2500/3000

Subwoofer
Size: 300 mm
Max power: 500W
Norm. power: 250W
4 oomi
Frequency responce: 30 - 900 Hz
Sensativity: 88 dB

Unless that sucks too

not gunna sound that great... it only goes down to 30 Hz. I'd hold off, save up and get something of a little higher quality
