Stacking downfiring subs?

I have heard of stacking front firing subs, but has anyone had any experience with stacking down firing subs? I have severe space limitation, and each sub is about 11" tall with a 10" woofer.

Thanks.

I have the Athena 10' sub. It's fantastic. The best thing about it is I can put it anywhere in the room and it sounds perfect. I've never had to change the volume passed 2. And there is a setting in the back to set wht type of front speakers you have so that it could increase or decrease the bass, based on the type of fronts.

Right now I'm using my brothers Paradigms, which I love but because I have Athena rears and center I will eventually buy Athena fronts. Still trying to decide if I can do with just the Athena as-f 1.2 over the 2.2 which are twice the price. If anyone can shed some light on that. it would ne much appreciated.

Here's the link to the Sub:

ltworf14,

Try to stay on topic. You didn't even begin to answer his question.

georgep,

It should be possible in the subs have base plates. If they don't, they may not be designed to have anything but flooring underneath.

I believe some people have removed the base plates on their down firing subs and laid them on their sides, IIRC some have stacked their svs +2's on their sides with great success. But if you do this I would HIGHLY recommend a isolation platform from www.auralex.com
