I just bought my 4th (!) squeezebox streaming product for no particularly good reason other than that I'm obviously a fanboy and logitech offered me a deal I couldn't refuse at a 50% discount. I hooked up my new Touch to my home office set up and the sound is superb. I gave up on CD players some time ago and switched to music streaming. My squeezebox products not only stream all my music (which I rip in apple lossless) but also does a great job with internet radio stations. Plus the screen looks pretty since you can look at your CD cover art and info about the song as it playing. The touchscreen is pretty bulletproof as is the included remote. I use my other SB Touch with my main home theater rig and use analog bypass so that the Touch does all the digital to analog conversion. It has a very good quality dac.
As I said, I have 4(!) SB products. I bought the SB duet when it first came out. It is not as good as the Touch which replaced it but you can sometimes find the duet heavily discounted since it is being phased out. I use it in my kitchen attached to a zvox mini. I have a Sangean WR-11, which is a very solid radio (and looks very old school as well),

I also have a SB Boom which is a pretty good internet radio. I have it next to my bed and use it both as an alarm clock and to listen to music.
This is fun stuff. Logitech has excellent phone support for its products and there is a good user community that will help you troubleshoot any problems you might have.
Edit: by the way, squeezebox products are very, very tweakable. There are a lot of different extensions written for it. The Touch can show your fotos as well if you like. I particularly like the timing feature when I'm going to sleep which shuts off the music after a certain amount of time. The Touch outputs bit perfect digital audio from redbook all the way to 24/96 kHz. While I use the RCA outputs, it has digital outputs if you prefer to connect it that way with your AV receiver.
