Spotify HiFi - What's up?

Hi Team,

After seeing Five Things to Know About Spotify HiFi way back in February, I've been patiently waiting for a big splash announcement that it has been rolled out somewhere => anywhere! As I'm Canadian (and proud of it as well) I accept reality, and don't expect we'd be first in line to get Spotify HiFi. Have you seen anything announcing even a Beta Site worldwide?

I find myself listening to Spotify for at least 5 hours a week, on headphones while I make dinner usually, so it's become a significant source for Tunes. (In lawn cutting season, I use it more. I used it on the weekend when I swapped on the snow tires for my Misses. So you get the idea.) I know, it's lossy and I feel a bit guilty listening to a lossy source so much these days, but it's so darn convenient. I'll be happy with CD Quality, and I know there are other lossless streaming options, but Spotify Premium fits our needs except for this issue.

Can you advise any news? Thanks for the assist.

I thought I saw something about a few selected cities getting the pilot release but that's been a fairly long time now. I think they can't afford it or something....or won't. I'm cool with it as is still, works great for my purposes. I can play high bit rate mp3s like them mixed in with my cd rips and not notice anything...I have no pretensions about my old ears either.

ps I did understand it was going to cost $10/month, too....

Hi, I don't really follow Spotify news, and I haven't heard anything about Hifi. To be honest, I don't use Spotify that often, but I have a premium subscription. I believe that the $10 that I pay every month for listening to music goes to artists, which means it's good. Because now is a difficult time to perform globally because of offensive restrictions, and the only stable income for artists is Spotify and all similar music platforms. By the way, I also recently uploaded a new with my band on Spotify, and I think that in the future, we will get a promotion on this site streamingfamous.com
If you're concerned about how much the artists get paid, then spotify isn't the best choice.

.

While Tidal has their MQA silliness, they still pay the most. That and their massive catalog make it an easy choice for me. Plus, they send me a report of how my listening pays the artists.

I'm using Spotify even more these last 2 weeks.

I got a pair of Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds for Christmas (They are fantastic by the way, but it takes a while to get used to them stuck in your ears) so I could do yard work at home while listening to tunes. But I'm at the family Cabin rebuilding a 40 year old Sundeck for the last couple weeks (It's slow and laborious work) and I use them on Spotify all day long. I know Spotify HiFi would be better, but it's not as important when there's hammering, saws, drills, etc., in the background. (Yes I know the WF-1000XM4 have noise cancellation)

We are on a family plan and I seem to be the only one wanting Spotify HiFi; so changing suppliers is not a great option. I just wish Spotify would get this done now.
