SPL calibration of height speakers after audyssey setup (?)

Hello,

I am trying to find a way to calibrate SPL of my height speakers after audyssey is already done and enabled...

I have a Marantz sr7013 currently in a 7.1.4 setup.
I am able to calibrate the system just fine with REW and Audyssey except for the height channels.
I use a umik1 mic so its usb to pc, hdmi from pc to AVR.

Does anyone have suggestions on how on earth i could get pink noise to my height channels WITH audyssey ON ???
If i use the AVR's speaker level test then audyssey is disabled which would not give me a correct reading of SPL.
However in REW i am only able to send signals to 8 channels. (the bed layer)

Anyone have any ideas?

thx in advance and kind regards,

Mart

[EDIT: Would ALLCHSTEREO on the AVR be an option? I could disconnect the unused speakers as necessary.
But does ALLCHSTEREO send the exact same signal to aal the channels if i for example use pink noise to the left channel???]

Your avr won't run test tones for each channel in manual setup mode? Wouldn't matter if you did that while Audyssey was on or off I'd think....

I’m not totally sure of the question but I’ll try. No coffee yet though...
If you press setup, speakers, manual setup, and test tone you should be able to select any speaker and adjust its spl level. I have a 6012 and it works fine that way.

thank you,

yes, my AVR can run test tones. But it runs them with audyssey disabled. If i set the spl and then use the system as normal again, the spl will be off by some margin because of audyssy being off during spl calibration but on afterwards.

Correct. It will be off by whatever margin you set. It doesn’t matter if audyssey is on or not. Once you run audyssey, you can alter things like XO and db to taste manually and still retain calibration.

I know,

But i want more control and to be able to measure it. If the calibration is set to 75dB and after audyssey applies its EQ, there is no way of knowing if the spl is then 75, or 77, 70dB etc etc.
Unfortunately even with REW i can't measure my height speakers because i have no way to send a signal to my height channels with their respective audyssey eq settings enabled (or disabled for that matter).

I'm asking if anyone knows a way that i CAN do that.

As far as i know, audyssey checks and sets levels and distances first. Then it does EQ. It doesnt correct the spl back to 75dB after it's done EQ. So basically i don't set anything, but i want to. But i can't with the amount of control i'd like.

Was just checking out some of this new AH video on youtube, maybe ask in the comments section.....if the video doesn't address it (I wasn't paying a lot of attention, more just checking out the gist of it)....
