Just a heads up for people who are not the greatest spellers. I noticed that the google toolbar has a spell check option. You can type normally in a post and then press the "ABC Check" button on the toolbar to check your spelling. All you need to do is download the google toolbar if you don't have it. It's free.

Obviously this won't help your grammar skills, but it's a start.

See, this is what I mean. If you would have used the spell check, then you would have realized that some of these words were spelled wrong :) .

There are a couple of words that *do* really bother me:

"loose" when the writer really meant "lose"
"then" when the writer really meant "than"

The problem is neither of them will be caught by a spell checker!

The ones that bother me are:

"their", "there", and "they're"

So many people use them interchangeably. It really makes me weep for the state of education in the western world.

You want us to spell AND type correctly?

My two fingers can only do so much. I mean, really! Most of us are products of the public school system.

It's amazing that most Americans can't speak proper English much less spell correctly. How often do you hear somebody referring to how tall something is as "heigTH " instead of "height". Just because "width" and "length" end in "TH" they add it to height.

Grammar and spelling are a peeve of mine. I didn't want to start the thread though...because it would just sound like I was a maniac.

#1 all time one that drives me up the wall: Base instead of BASS.

#2 DefinAtely.

#3 Too, to and two.

#4 Then and than.

Everyone misspells or mistypes now and again, but...come on.
