Hey Guys!

I need your help!

I have 1 SatelliteBox, 1 BD player and a new Chromecast, all of these connected through HDMI to a SONY STR-DH540 receiver, which is then connected to a Epson 96W powerlite Projector (also Via HDMI).

Both the Satellite box and the BD player work perfectly (audio through surround system, and HD picture through the projector). However, the chromecast (and in an another attempt, an apple TV) doesn't work. I get audio out the surround system, however the Projector claims that there is no HDMI signal.

I tried connecting the chromecast directly to the projector and it worked perfectly, but not through the AVR.

Like I said, everything else works perfectly..... can anyone help me?

Thanks for your help!

Have you tried using the inputs that work with the BD and satellite box with the devices that don't?

Isn't the Chromecast a USB device? All commercials I've seen show it connected directly to the TV. Will your receiver convert that signal to HDMI?

Welcome to the forum!

Try changing the resolution of the Chromecast to 720p. I'm wondering if the Chromecast's default 1080p resolution is causing a problem when you route it through your receiver. Just a thought.

Mark, the Chromecast can work through a receiver - I've done it. :) It's powered by USB, but it connects via HDMI.
