Greetings. My brain is about to explode with all of the stinking options available. I'm looking for simple and sweet direction. I am in the process of remodeling and have decided to install a new system. The size of the room is approximately 20' x 17' to which I would like to install in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. I am at the point where I am ready to run cable, wires, etc. I previously had a monster sound system, however, I was also in a much larger home. I enjoy music and frequently would rock out to Palladia at a very high volume, not to mention bad ass movies. Point being, I do not just want surround sound, I want a system I can listen to. My dilemma is there are so many options and things to consider. I have been surfing and reading articles, including this site. So, any advice on brand and/or model of speakers, sub, receiver and possibly a television? I am currently using Google TV with a Sony 46" to stream, but if buying a new TV would provide a more reliable source and simplify things, I will strongly consider it. Additionally, I will have a run of about 30-35 feet. What cables do I need to run to facilitate my current and future needs. I do not anticipate adding more components or speakers, other than possibly outdoor speakers. Am I okay with running a dual HDMI/Ethernet cable or do I need to run each one individually? I have read the DIY thread located on this site, but it is a very old thread. Like everyone, I am looking for quality as inexpensively as possible, as the remodel is beginning to sting a bit. However, I don't mind splurging on something friends and family will enjoy plus having the ability to let it rip when my wife is away. Thank you for your much appreciated time and knowledge in assisting me. Have a great day!
