Special note for Integra DHC 9.9 owners

As many owners of Integra DHC 9.9 A/V processors have discovered, there is a (seeming) HDMI compatability problem when using the DHC 9.9 with Panasonic Plasma T.V.'s.

There is now an answer: The Integra DHC 9.9's support for "Deep Color" must be disabled(by a secret front panel procedure), and then the DHC 9.9 will work perfectly with Panasonic T.V.'s.

On the Integra's front panel, press(and hold down) the "Aux 1" button, and push the "Power" button. Then use the "setup" button to toggle between "Deep Color Enable" & "Deep Color Disable". Select "Disable"

Finally, after owning the DHC 9.9 for 5 months(and, understandably, thinking it was a worthless paperweight) I have finally(in this past week) been able to start using and enjoying it.

The DHC 9.9 may not be the world's most user-friendly product, but it's a high quality product and it works.

Thanks Phil for this invaluable information. :)

In the past, I always recommended to disable that feature, plus several more, that are causing more issues than it resolves.

* By the way, Congratulations on your DHC-9.9, it's a state-of-the-art Pre/Pro Audio/Video Surround Processor that beats anything near it's price point. You'll have to spend at least 3 times it's asking price, to notice a clear improvement on it's performance, audio and video wise. And even then, you'd better have some high resolution speakers, with a high end projector display.

Cheers,
Bob

2. Lip Sync = Disable.
3. xvYCC = Disable.
4. Control = Disable.
* Power Control = Disable.
* TV Control = Disable.
In other words, all of the HDMI CEC features. You really don't need them if you have a universal remote control.

That's right, all that CEC stuff (Compatible Enable Component). :)

* Plus, you get a better picture, a better operation system, and a much easier and happy life. :)
No more compatibility problems, that ruins your life and screw everything up in your system.
Furthermore, no more equipment failures, no more returns, no more shipping charges, no more endless & sleepless nights, no more doctor's appointments, and no more running nude around the block, screaming and yelling at your neighbors. :)

Simply a better life for everyone, and a better and healthier relationship with your wife, kids & neighbors.

Is that makes any sense to you? ;)

Cheers,
Bob

And besides saving yourself from running around naked in the neighborhood, it's also possible that you might save yourself significantly in energy costs. The Onkyo 805 for example was reviewed to draw 68 watts with HDMI-control enabled, even when the unit is completely turned off!

^ You are absolutely correct jostenmeat, it was clearly mentioned from the review
of the Onkyo TX-SR805, at Serets of Home Theater and High Fidelity.
Here: @ http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_14_3/onkyo-tx-sr805-receiver-9-2006-part-5.html
-> Read the last paragraph just before 'CONCLUSIONS'.

But I wonder if that very beneficial drop in consumption of power, would also be beneficial in this very same aspect for his Integra DHC-9.9 Surround Processor?
Of course it will be, because it is created by that HDMI CEC feature, that is present in both of these models, and several more Onkyo and Integra models.

Thank you friend, to bring that up. :)

Bob
