Not bad.

No, but the specs are very impressive. Wonder how they compare to the SVS line. The 10" seems like a nice buy for a smaller room.

Driver:
8" forward firing (6.3" piston diameter) 350w
10" forward firing (8.2" piston diameter) 375w
12" forward firing (9.9" piston diameter) 400w
15" forward firing (12.7" piston diameter) 1000w

Frequency Response:
34-140 Hz +/-3 dB
28-120 Hz +/-3 dB
25-120 Hz +/-3 dB
23-120 Hz +/-3 dB

compliments of yahoo.com shopping
$359
$375
$449
$577

And the one that amazes me the most...

Weight (approx.):
44 lbs.
53 lbs.

83 lbs.

They are monsters!

I just picked up the 400 watt model for $460 at the local Sound Advice which is currently going out of business.

Speaking of that, they are selling a pioneer elite 50 plasma with stand and speakers, HD box for $6300. What do you all of think of that deal and unit?

I've got the DLS-4000

DLS stands for Distortion Limiting System...this is the least expensive of the Velodyne series but it's still pretty impressive. Mine has a 12" woof and a 200W/channel RMS amp. The 3750 has a 10" woof and 175 watts.

The 5000 is the more recently added model that has the remote control and the preprogrammed DSP modes...spec wise I believe it is identical to the DLS-4000.

I bought my 4000 from "Listen Up" on clearance for $349 (list $599) and I
believe they are still running the special. It's includes free shipping. I love mine and I can easlily recommend it for this price range.

Check this link to see if the special is still running:

I think he was going for the sale...

The Tweeter guy was trying to sell me a floor model 4000 for $399 as he had no more in stock. He was getting some 5000's in that he was selling for $599
and he "assured" me that the only diff was the DSP modes and the remote.
The guy seemed pretty knowlegeble on other things so I'm gonna assume he knew the other model was better...he just wanted to get rid of his demo.
I'm not sure which is more annoying...ignorance or self-servingness.

Like I said...I wound up finding a brand new one online for $349 anyway and since you asked...yes I love it. I typically only listen to it on movies as my LSi 15's give me more than enough bass while listening to music which is typically only 2 channel in nature.

It shook the whole house during U571 and Spidey 2...my two favorite bass response DVD's.

Man, I wish I could take mine back and order it from the website listed above. I bought it from Sound Advice on a closeout special that I thought was pretty good. I wish this was posted before I bought it. OH well.

G'day everyone......

20to20 - does the model your purchased have to Remote?

I understand thats what the "R" stands for in the model name. There was a run of the previous model though no "R". and no remote...

Nobody played with the 3750R??

Aaron....

No remote...

I believe the 5000 is the only model with a remote. I didn't think a remote
on a sub would be a big deal. Certainly not worth the extra $250 it would
have costed me...but as mentioned the 5000 is a far superior sub than the
4000 on other counts as well.

I still think the 4000 at $349 is the best deal. It's loud and clean enough
for me...and my room is about 25x18x9.

The one that is on sale is not the one I purchased. I purchased the 4000 with the remote.

20to20..

All the NEW series have the remote...

The DLS-3500, 3750 and 4000 all have been replaced with the same model number though now with the "R".

Here is the manual for the old series - DLS Series

Here is the new -
DLS-R series

First thing I note is the enclosure difference....

Response, Amp, Weight, Driver Size all seem to be the same comparing the manuals details..

Your right, hefty price premium for a remote! Thing I dont like the idea about is how do you really know how high your volume is??

Cool! I wonder if that's the model the Tweeter guy was talking about.
Does it have DSP mode settings?

Sorry 20K..............Thank you!

I've been looking for a decent 12" sub with decent power w/o spending more than $400-$500 & this certainly meets all criteria.
