Speakers with this setup

I recently got a great deal on a Marantz SR-8400 receiver off Ubid, but now I need some speakers to go with the receiver. Here is a little background on the room they will be in.

The room they would be in is about 30' wide and 25' deep. However, the viewing area is about 15' wide and 14' deep. I have a pool table and other things on the other 15' wide area and a bar area behind the viewing area. It is all open though with the exception of 2 boxed in support poles.

I already have Polk RCi80's for rears because my wife didn't want speakers all over the place. I'm looking for 2 front and a center channel. I've thought about the Polk RTi 8's or 10's for the front, but I'm open to suggestions.

My budget is about $1,000 for the 2 fronts and center together. MacManNM suggested BIC's. Any other ideas within my budget?

I have not heard these. But the Audioholics review is good. Mordaunt Short Avant Series. Pair of 906 towers for $800. 905C center for $300.

Here
Scroll down to the speakers. ;)

Staying within your budget, check out the Axiom M50ti and VP100 here

or you can go Polk all around with the Monitor 60 and CS2 here

The BIC's and Acoustech's are better and have a better spl than the Polk's you listed. The center channel that is timber matched to the Polks will run you half of your budget. The BIC 62 center sounds better then the top of the line Polk (and just about every other center sold) and will only run you $125. You have a huge room to fill. You need an 8 ohm speaker with an spl rating of 92 or higher. Are you keeping the two surround speakers? If not, get the entire Acoustech 5.1 setup and sell your Polk surrounds. They are power mongers.

Yes, I plan on keeping the Polk in-ceiling speakers. I'll take a look at the BIC speakers. Thanks for the input.

Have a look at these guys. 6T's, 9c . It's been a while since I posted these guys. I have an all PSB setup and I love it.

I've got the Image T45s, 8C, and 1Bs for my mains, center, and surrounds. I have a subsonic5 which I'm very happy with. I may upgrade it for the Subsonic6i just so that I can get into the low 2Os. :D

I never asked you, what is this room like? Hardwood floors, carpet, tile? Is there a basement under or is it concrete? That should play into what speakers you get.

One of the "toughest" looking speakers out there. And I'm sure they sound as good as they look!

They may be small for what you are looking for, But I have 2 PSB Image 4T's, an Image 8C and 2 Image 3LR's in Cherry that I want to get rid of. They Look Good and Sound great. All yours for $875 shipped. It would save some cash and you could add a great sub. My room is 16 x 27 with my theater consisting of 16 x 17 and it fills it superbly.

Check out Athena for a great inexpensive system as well. B&W is also worth a look with a bit more cash.

The room has carpet with concrete underneath that.

Thanks for the offer, Annu, but the wife wants the speakers in black. Cherry doesn't go well with the rest of the room.
