Speakers With Different Impedance For Home Theater

I recently purchased a YAMAHA RX-V1500 to power my 25yr old YAMAHA NS690-II's that will be used as the mains while I build a home theater system. I've since added an ASCEND CMT 340center. For us, audio and video has never been better! Now for the question... both these speakers have an impedance of 8 ohms, I would like to add the AXIOM QS-8's as surronds, these are rated at 6ohms. Is there a problem using speakers with different impedence ratings, why or why not? If not, what should the reciever be set to: 6 or 8, and why? Enjoying the learning experience, THANKS VERY MUCH for all the input!

Hi
You will be ok with the 1500 . Just make sure you select the correct size
(small) for the surrounds and start with 80Hz as the X-Over If you run YPOA
It may set all your speakers to large If you are relying on YPAO to level match just be sure to go back in and select the proper size and X-over
Happy Listening

GREETINGS RLA!
Pardon my ignorance,I do need to clarify that you meant to set the surronds X-over to 80Hz? Do this by using the graphic equalizer or is there another preferred means? By setting this x-over and making sure the surronds are sized as small the recievers impedance setting can be set to 8ohms? Sooo much to learn!!!!
THANKS FOR THE INPUT
