Speakers with 4 inputs

I have some old speakers (Snell type KIII) and I'm trying to figure out how to connect them to my amplifier. The amp has standard R/L outputs, but each of the speakers has 2 sets of R/L inputs (4 terminals). One set is labeled "high" and the other set labeled "low".

How do I go about doing this? I have never seen a speaker with high and low inputs. Every speaker I've ever dealt with just has 2 terminals.

Thanks.

They are bi wire terminals. Are the jumpers still there between the +ve & - ve of both sets of terminals?

If the jumpers are there, then just connect to either set of terminals.

If there are no jumpers, connect the +ve terminals together and then the -ve terminals together. Then connect your amp to either set of terminals. Don't bother to bi-wire it is bogus.

No, there's nothing connecting any of the terminals. I'll do as you say and connect the positives and negatives together. Thanks for the help.

You can also search for "speaker jumpers" on EBay for some intersting solutions, depending on the termination you would like to / need to use. I made a set out of a hank of some old Audioquest Type 6 wire I had  .

Works for sure and they look nice, but a bit of overkill :)

Cut a piece of wire that is about 3-4" long depending on the binding post distances, and strip the ends about 3/8"-1/2" and attach the two binding posts (+ and -) together with that wire and you are all done. If you then use banana plugs, they should be unaffected by the make-shift jumper.

Overkill is my middle name ;) ... my speakers are placed far enough away from the wall so it is all exposed. It was a fun project. I have moved on to making some sheilded cables for my subs :p .... all out of spare parts.
