A agabriel Junior Audioholic Oct 7, 2007 #3 Sounds like your building up capacitance somewhere. Did you try a new cable with the sub? If that doesn't work it may have a problem. What kind of sub do you have?

J Johnd Audioholic Samurai Oct 7, 2007 #4 Yes. as agabriel suggested, check your connections and cable first. If you know it is a ground loop issue, here's a quick article to troubleshoot: http://www.audioholics.com/tweaks/connecting-your-system/ground-loops-eliminating-system-hum-and-buzz?searchterm=grou

Almost sounds like the sub amp has a leaking cap causing the hum/ ground loop, but do that cable swap first since it is easy to do. One final check, also easy to do, disconnect your cable TV's cable, video and audio, at the wall and see if the hum is still there.
