Hi all,

I am a Music / Movie Lover, who has only "ears" for good music but no technical knowledge so I need your valuable suggestions on this.

I am pretty much decided on the Receiver, but I am not able to decide on which speaker system ( bookshelf ) to buy to match the Yamaha RXV 2500. the parameters for selecting the speakers is primarily the cost.

please also suggest how would be the NSP 436 Home Theater speaker system from Yamaha? is that a good match?

I have googled a lot on this speaker system but did not find any Editorial / expert reviews on this..wonder why?

Hope to see a reply soon.

with best wishes for the Christmass and a New year.

As I stated in another thread, you are the only one who can decide what speakers are right for you. There are many considerations:
- Impedence (4, 6, or 8 ohm) One is not necessarily better than the other
- Size
- Price
- Listening preferences (like it loud? listen to Rap or Classical?)
- Retailer that sells a particular brand (retailer A is a bum, retailer B is a nice guy)
Retailer A sells brand X, retailer B sells Y, and does not sell X. Kinda limits your choices.
- Now go shopping!!

One more thing, do your self a favor, and avoid those all in one box speaker systems for $199. Your speakers are what you actually listen to. The quality of your speakers makes a BIG difference, as compared to the quality of your electronics, which does make a difference, but not as much as the speakers. You can hook a $2000 piece of audio gear to a $99 pair of speakers, and it will sound like a $99 pair of speakers (Read - crappy). The reverse wouldn't sound like audio nirvana, but it would be better than the first scenario.
