I just picked up a yamaha rx-v1500 and I was wondering what folks here recommend for speakers. Although the yamaha is 7.1 capable, at this time I only want to buy for a 5.1 setup. I probably listen to about 70% music, and 30% movies. I also have a lot of concert DVDs. I really want to keep my cost below 2000 bucks and would prefer to stay under 1500. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Paradigm is a great match with yamaha. I would suggest the monitor 7's with the cc270 center and either the minimonitors or adp370's as surrounds. As for a sub, I would suggest an Hsu stf2, or Hsu vtf2 mk2. This 5.1 setup is great and can be had for around $2000. Go to a local dealer and listen, you won't be dissappointed.

Look at Monitor audio (http://www.monitoraudiousa.com/). Monitor Silver series won't disappoint. Accurate, dynamic & I have with rx-v1400 & am very pleased. I saved a few bucks going with the Bronze series for rears & I really think they work well with silvers across the front.
