Speakers for HK AVR235

I am setting up our first HT in a new house. The room is 15x20, and is pre-wired for 5 satellite speakes (two front, three rear). I had decided on the HK AVR235, and HK TS8 for the speakers because they are small and will look good wall mounted. I noticed that the owners manual for the HK AVR235 says that you shouldn't use a 6.1 speaker set-up. Is this the case with all 7.1 receivers? Do I need to go to 6.1 receiver? I would appreciate any advice on this.

The set-up of the room doesn't really allow for another speaker on that wall. I was looking at the owners manual for a 7.1 Onkyo, which suggests that if you are using only 5 surrounds to connect one of them to the Left surround back and leave the Right surround back terminal empty. Do you think this would work on the HK also? If it would have a negative impact on the sound, maybe we should consider a 6.1 system anyway... We will be using the system mostly for movies, but also some music. We aren't kids anymore, so we don't really need wall shaking sound.

I would assume you are probably fine connecting it to the right. I'm baffled why HK says not to use one rear center. You can call their customer service number www.harmankardon.com. They are excellent and will help you. I wouldn't "trade down" to a 6.1 receiver. You have a very good unit.
