This is the first time I am building a HT. I have decided to go for the Yamaha AVR and now I am looking for speakers. My budget in total for speakers is $400-500 for now. My idea is to slowly build the system to a 7.2.

For now I need some suggestion on speakers - 2 Floor standing and 1 center speaker (optional).

Later on I want to add a couple of rear surround satellite speakers to create the 5.1 system in my living room and ofcourse two book shelf speakers in my patio.

Can someone help me with this? I need speakers that go well with the Yamaha AVRs.

Jim,

Many thanks for your suggestion. Do you mean to say I should go for the sub along with the floor standing speakers and remove the center speaker from my list?

Also, I have read not very good reviews about pioneers. Any other brand I can look into, like, Jamo, Cambridge, Klipsch? I know they are going to cost more but I can increase my budget for good sound. :)

I do not know what reviews you are reading :) - however, most of us
know that Pioneer gets good reviews.
Also, here is a thread

I am not saying remove the center channel - I am saying, there are
better subwoofer options to look at.

The other option, which is my budget favorite brand >> Cambridge
Audio. Look at the S30 bookshelf speakers, and/or the S70 towers.
