So my setup is this Denon 3311 I have polk rc80i in kitchen hooked to second zone of receiver.

I have read all the reviews on these speakers and everyone loves them saying how the bass is so good. I hear nothing good coming from these speakers I have to set it at about -40db to hear decent sound. I am streaming iTunes music thru the denon receiver I also have the bass and treble turned up on the speakers to 10.
My friend has a Sonia speaker an I think that sounds a whole lot better then my speakers and my reviever is putting 110 watts to these speakers.

Please help

I have nothing good to say about Polk speakers. :D

Not a brand that I would personally ever buy. :D

I assume you didn't audition before buying? Can you return them?

I like my Denon 3312 a lot, though. :D

I take it the speakers in zone 1 sound fine?

I would suggest first trying your surround speakers or some other speakers as zone 2, to make sure it's not a receiver issue, next step would be to replace your current zone 2 speakers.

I don't have anything hooked to zone one. Still deciding what to do for my surround sound system

Try connecting them via Zone 1 first to see if something is not configured correctly on the zone. I am sure there is a separate level setting for them, but -40 really doesn't sound very high to have to turn it up to get adequate sound out of them.

It's an in-wall speaker. It's not going to sound great, but it will do the job and no I don't recommend Polk either.
