I'm curious to listen your personal experiences and gear used to set up in-wall or wall-hanging speaker system for a room that has 2 story open foyer. I'm sure some of you have "lessons learnt" and would be great to share your experience/suggestions with respect to accoustics, SPL and choice of in-wall vs wall-hanging speakers.

Also was there a minimum woofer driver size (10" or 12") you took into consideration. The room size i have in mind is 20W x 25D X 20h (Open 2 story foyer)

Thanks

my lesson learned is that large volume spaces need plenty of speaker "cone area" to push audio out into the room. This usually means tower speakers for the L & R along with a large center channel.

You did not mention a budget or speaker preference, but I will offer a suggestion just because of the sale timing issue this weekend (May 15-16)

Newegg.com has a sale this weekend on Polk Monitor 70 towers with coupon code EMCYSZS24 (almost $70 off the price listed in the link)

add a matched Polk CS2 center and you have a nice "front 3" at a super price

just a suggestion, there are many, many good speaker systems out there, but none at this price. ;)
