I have already purchased the following:
samsung un60d7000 hdtv, samsung bd 6700 bluray player, wii console, ipod, ipad and the pioneer elite vsx 52 receiver.

the room size is 17' by 22' with 7 foot ceilings over a concrete slab with tiled floor. there is an opening of three feet on the front right of the room(split level short set of stairs separating den from main level)

I was thinking of getting the definitive tech procinema 600 5:1(small speakers are preference to stay married!)

i want to fell the bass, and a true surround sound. would love theater type sound for movies, sports, games and music, but can't blow my wife out the house with large speakers and sound of my preferred level.

also have a budget where what i want and what i can get may be very different.

so the question is will the deftech procinema 600 give me the sound that will fill the room but not blow the doors off??????

please help want to complete system asap!!

Cannot help you asap but I am sure others will.
You posted something contradictory ;)
And, your tile floor is a killer to audio sounds.
While small speakers may please, it will not get you to theater sound and certainly won't feel the bass. If there are other mandates in the house, you will seriously have to compromise to meet those requirements.

You could also convince the spouse that you don't have to listen to large speakers at theater levels but, when she is out of the house, then you can at least please yourself with your type of levels:D

You will seriously need some thick, dense area rugs to tame the bounce from the tile floor.
As for speakers, there are small and there are small. Go TOO small and you're just wasting your money. Especially in that size room (2618 cuft).
I'd say those DT speakers would be a waste of time and money.

Try something a bit bigger, possibly wall mounted speakers.
The smallest I would go would be JBL L810 wall mount. Along with a LC2 wall center, you're looking at just over $800.
