Can anyone give me guidelines or suggestions regarding the best distance between my front two speakers? I right now only have 2.0 system and want to maximize my soundstage obviously. I am running Paradigm Atom Monitors on 24" stands being fed by an Onkyo SR606 if that helps.

Thanks

Roughly the same distance apart as you sit from them, 1-2 ft away from the wall.

Cool, thanks for the info. Nothing like a good equilateral triangle. Makes sense though.

That is the starting point; it will depend on your room and how much stuff is in it and whether or not you have carpet or hard (wood, tile, etc...) floors as to what sounds best. Some speakers may like to be a little closer together and others might want to be further apart with a lot of toe-in. Mine are a little less than equilateral and pointed directly at the center of the listening position but I've tried other speakers in my setup and have had different results. A little experimentation and the best position should be pretty easy to find.
