Hi, this is my current system below and within the next 6 months I plan on upgrading the components of it along with the actual room. My use is 70% HT / 20% Gaming / 10% Music. Along with a new receiver, sub, etc the real confusion I have other than room acoustics are the speakers.
I plan on going from a 5.1 system to 7.1, to do this I wanted to move 4 of my Athena AS-B1 speakers to the back and get some floor standing speakers in the front. I'm willing to fork about $800 to $1000 with shipping for a pair of speakers with a matching center. Online I can find the
Athena AS-F2 speakers which are matching tower speakers to my center and bookshelf speakers. I have no problems buying used and I could get these around $500 shipped (shipping is killer) and I would probably get a 2 channel amp for them.
Would this be my best option or should I consider many of the other speaker options like the new EMP E5Ti? If necessary I would replace the Athena bookshelf surrounds but I would prefer to keep them.
Thank you for helping a newbie out.
