Speaker stands with clamps?!

Hi All,

Axiom sells speaker stands with clamps which supposedly clamp down the bookshelf speakers mounted on them. I have a 1 1/2 year old baby, and these interest me. Does anyone have any experience with them? And do they fit only Axiom speakers? Are there any other brand that fashion speaker stands with clamps?

thanks,

Ohmage.

My speakers left the floor after my kid learned to crawl. Speaker stands were simply irresistable and after the speaker fell on him ONCE I was done taking the chance with his life. My speakers are now mounted on the wall, up and out of his reach and the wires are routed up high where he can't get at them.

Just an observance. My speaker stands allowed me to bolt the speaker to the stand so they didn't fall off when the speaker was pulled down. But it didn't stop it from being pulled down either.

There are some really nice shelves with hidden hardware that you can mount on your wall, in corners, and other ways that look as good or better than speaker stands and still offer excellent audio positioning.

LOL. Since I have a pin-up calibre baby, on the wall should be fine :p

Thanks for the link to those brackets, how high from the floor should I mount them for optimal imaging?

Here is the link to those Axiom stands; and on second perusal, they look like they are only specific to those Axiom bookshelves - neat feature nevertheless.

Anybody else?
