Speaker Stands or Spikes

I have a pair of B&W DM603 S2 front speakers. Currently, I have the speakers sitting on the floor which has carpet. I am thinking about raising them off of the floor. However, I was wondering if I should just put some spikes under them or if I should go ahead and invest in some speker stands.

My question is will I notice a difference if I go with one versuses the other?

Not if you raise it to the same height with either one. It should be ear height. Not sure which will do that.
