I was reading about what you should set your crossover for and it was 80HZ where anything lower goes to your sub. This had me thinking where a lot of tower speakers have frequency responses to the 40s. If you are cutting the frequencies at 80HZ do you really need tower speakers or would bookshelf speakers do the same thing?
The other line of thought I had is if you had tower speakers that can go down to the 40s would you be better to lower the cutoff frequency to 50 and utilize the tower speakers and save the sub for the lower frequencies? Thanks
