What should I do... Im runnning a Yamaha HTR5750 at 6.1 running 105watts a channel. I would like a 6.1 BUT... i mean i dont need audiofile quality. Hmmm.. im pretty stuck.... i was thinking onkyo ht510 cuz they got rave reviews but should i start with a pair of fronts and maybe a centre instead?? Also i was looking at a Klipsch quintet II system... ... im so confused now... its all so confusing..

take a look at this set. it gets you 5 decent speakers plus a sub within your budget. If you want, you can save up later for a pair of better fronts to blend in and get a solid 6.1 system with a minimal loss of your investment on this set. :)

really?

Really? Are those athena speakers that much better then the onkyos? The onkyos also cost 177 as opposed to 499 keep in mind. But if those athena speakers are that much better then maybe i will think about it. What do you think?

I think...

...you have been given excellent advice already. Second guess it at your own risk. Athena's offet a heckuva lot of bang for the buck.

Since you stated a range of $500, why are you considering a $177 system?

If you want to consider the "building block" approach, therare tremendous buys on Athena's other speakers as well. A pair of AS-F1's for the front R/L and a AS-C1 center can probably be obtained for < 500. Add a sunb abd rears later.

I know that a pair of AS-F2's can be bought for $400. The center seems the be set at $180. check out http://www.audioadvisor.com or your local Best Buy for these. BB might have better prices, though.

I've got these in my living room. I doubt I'll be upgrading them until I get a bigger house.... They're surprisingly "big" sounding for their size, especially when you set them to "small" on your receiver and take advantage of the subwoofer.

I have absolutely no regrets about getting them. The built-in mounting brackets are great too.
