Speaker settings for a BI-AMP setup?

There’s no good reason not to set all the speakers for 80 Hz. Set the crossover on the sub all the way up to the LFE setting. If the sub overloads during demanding passages, then turn on the high pass filter.

"If the sub overloads during demanding passages, then turn on the high pass filter."

You mean low pass filter? That's the only setting on my reciever.

When your sub is set to lfe on the lpf you can set the low pass in the avr. If your sub has a built hpf, it's internal. As for the biamping part, your not gonna gain anything except using extra wire, it's 99.9% marketing hype with passive crossover and with an avr.

Got it!

I've set my main left and right speakers to small, with an 80hZ crossover and set my sub low-pass setting to LFE on the back pannel of the sub.
As for the receiver setting, should I turn the subwoofer low-pass filter ON or OFF?

The lpf for lfe should be on and set for 120(unless you have special considerations). That controls where the upper range of the .1 channel is cut off. Lfe, or .1 channel is 3hz-120hz, and is completely independent of any XO settings. Therefore it's best to leave it alone. Unless, for example you have localization of lfe effects in movies(there's no .1 in music).
