i have read that speakers should be set to small.
could not find about these in my receivers' manual or anywhere.
any help please.

Set to large. Setting to small cuts off the bass to the speakers, looks like you have no sub, so you want your speakers to play bass. Otherwise, setting to small with sub.

With the Onkyo there is no small setting. You set each speaker set to whatever x-over freq. you want, pg 73. As you may know by now 80 Hz is a good starting point.

He has an SVS PB12-NSD.

@ AVRat, what a photographic memory you've got!. Yes GirgleMirt, AVRat is right i got the SVS sub.

Okay i got that. I've been tweaking the x-overs and its been set to 80hz front/100hz center/120hz LFE.
