speaker selector to amp

B

I'm connecting a 6 channel speaker selector for whole home sound (never all at once) to a Denon (AVR 1700) 5.1 amp. I use the amp in Living room with 4 ceiling mount speakers, powered subwoofer on surround most of the time. Which output terminals on the amp should I connect to the selector (the main or surround)?

The "Front / BI-WIRING B" terminals.

Please check your Denon 1700 manual (I only found the spec sheet online) to ensure your speaker selector/speakers impedance is compatible.

The concern is if simultaneously powering the four main zone speakers and the "bi-wired" selector speakers the combination will not overtax the amplifier.
Bi-wiring should imply separate amplifiers and be just fine. However, sometimes manufacturers do nutty things for no apparent reason.

BTW what speaker selector are you using and does it have "impedance protection" as either a built-in circuit or selectable with a button.
