We break ground on a new house this month, and I've receive the ok to put put in an interim home theater (I say interim, because wife doesn't understand our basement family room will eventually become the real thing). At any rate, we have a connected family room/kitchen on the main floor that will have to do for now. The family room is 16' X 18', (the whole room being about 30' X 18') with windows and fireplace on one side, kitchen on other (see diagram). Here's the equipment I have so far
Yamaha RX-V2400
Saphire ST1 Towers
Saphire Center
Velodyne Sub
My question is, I'm wondering about the placement of surround speakers - I'd like to setup 7.1 surround, so:
1.) Per the diagram below - I'm thinking about using di-pole ceiling mounted speakers - see the diagram (they're in blue). Should I use dipole speakers? 2.) Thoughts on ceiling mount - I think this is my only option (It's all windows on fireplace side)?
3.) What type of speakers would you recommend?
4.) Is it worth while putting presence speakers in front?
5.) Any thoughts on Saphire Speakers?
