Speaker Repair, Melted Connections and have PIC's

I purchase a pair of Mordaunt-short's ( 30i ) from Step-Dad and noticed after a few weeks, no highs from these nice back speakers, under closer inspection I found a melted plate in the connection area. So I pull out the screwdriver and open it up. I find a blue transistor melted. So I was wondering if you guys think its repairable? Did it blow the tweeter? Or is it a fuse of sorts?

I know how to soder so I could repair myself, but where do I get parts?

I cant find much online about these speakers so do you think $150 USD is a fair purchase price?

Heres a couple pics of the problem...

If you know what it is, sure you can fix it yourself. You could email Mordaunt and ask them what it is.

A local electronic parts house in you town should have it, or even possibly Radio Shack.

Also...you could order it from www.***************** but figure that the shipping will be an added cost.

I'd say it would be worth it as that part is probably pretty cheap.
