Speaker Recommendation

HI,
So I placed an order with TSC 4 days ago. I was going to pay by check, and four days later they haven't sent an address to send money to.

Now...I'm looking for a budget setup. Two front speakers and a sub. I have a Yamaha 663.

So far I've found a pair of Klipsch synergy b-3's 6.5" bookshelf for $263 and a velodine vx-10 for 169.

The total there is 433 bucks.

I haven't found reviews of either.

Would you all please give your opinion or recommend options for 2 fronts and a sub for 400 or so?

Thanks,
Skymeat

from what i have heard, all Klipsh speakers have quite a unique sound. Not that i have heard or owned any from them, apparently you either love them or hate them.....

Either way i recommend having a listen to one set before you commit if its at all possible. Another good speaker company is Wharfedale. They make some which are not too expensive especially the diamond 9 series which i very much enjoy.

The myth is that they are bright. While at one time that might have held water, imo their sound varys across all their lines. The love hate that some mention, is no different than with any speaker. If you want to demo an inexpensive monitor, check out the behringer 2030p and 2031p.

Well I got back from shopping.

I ended up with 4 polk monitor 30's and an infinity ps210.

They ended up being 50$ea for the monitor 30's and 250 for the sub.

I'm sitting here wrapped in sound, I'm impressed. They sound far better here than in the store.

Thanks,
Skymeat
