<font color='#000000'>I've heard lots of good speakers that only have a tweeter and a woofer, so what advantage does having a separate midrange on a speaker offer, and where does the midrange come from on a speaker with only a tweeter/woofer?</font>

<font color='#0000FF'>The idea of a mid was to keep the sound clean because the woofer makes excessive movement to produce bass therefore muddying up the mids, it was more significant in the days of less exotic materials and design but the NS-1000 with its berrilyum mids and tweeters was a and still is a fantastic speaker.</font>
