Surround back speaker placement in 5.1 setup using these speakers. I am using speakers where each speaker is labeled right and left. They are designed to be setup so the speaker that is labeled right is placed to the right, and the speaker that is labeled left is set up to the left. If I were to use these speaker as my back speakers in a 5.1 setup what would be the proper way of placing the speakers?

Well there wouldn't be a "proper" way as you know, but the reality is you'll have to experiment. Why do you need to put them at the rear? I'm guessing it's a room issue.
Just for reference...

I have two pairs of these. I would be using them for the front and rears.

If you look at the picture William posted, that's where you would want to place surround speakers in a 5.1 setup, or as close as possible. I wouldn't even pay attention to any rear speaker outputs unless you have 2 more and just use the surround/side outputs for your surrounds.

Exactly my point. They will make noise behind the LP, but it serve as more of a distraction than an inclusion to the material.

My original question was.
The speaker that is labeled "left" is placed facing the front to the left. Should I then turn and face the back wall and place the speaker to the left? Or should it be placed on the back wall in the revered position?

From the looks of them, they're bipolar so I would put them at the sides so the drivers fire towards the LP but simultaneously in front of and behind.

Left and right is as in facing towards your front speakers (i.e. towards the stage/screen)

ps As in all left or right references are as you face the sound stage/screen, i.e. your left front speaker is on your left as you face it, etc.

I expect that the speakers are designated right and left for the purposes of stereo imaging. Thus, for surround sound duty it won’t matter which one you use where.

What William, Pogre and LTD has said along with the post with the seating arrangement is going to give you the sweet spot and that's what you want, try not to over think this thing...

In a 5.1 setup I would place the speakers in a surround position (on the sides of where you sit, not behind or rear), and have them face toward you in your listening position.

On your image above, the seating should be right in between the boxes labeled 'rear', with the speakers pointed at you. I would not use any 'rear' outputs in a 5.1 setup.

I think the literature stating "rear" is before 7.1 when it was common to refer the surround speakers as rears. After 7.1 came what WAS known as rears became the "sides", and the rear surrounds are referred to as such.
I would place those speakers to the sides of the couch, with the tweeters aimed at the listening position(seat).
If they must be at the rear of the room, or behind the LP, then aim them at the front of the room.
