Hi,

I have attached the layout of the room for my HTS placement. As you see I cant do much, there are two doors on the left wall with a window inbetween and an opening to other parts of the house in the center, on the right wall. I cant shift the TV from that corner since all internal electrical and cable TV cables end up in that corner.

Is this the optimum setting for me. Can I do something with the delay settings for my center and Surround Left/right channels to optimize it.

Any suggestions ???????????.

Wow...

It's really not a good thing that your surround is farther in front of you than your mains. Assuming that your surround is a bookshelf or something of that general size, I think your might be able to find a ceiling mount or wall mount to get it in a more porper place.

If anything, get that lonely surround on the lower left closer to the other side of the couch by the doorway.

Other than that, well, good luck.

I agree with what's been said. You definitely want the Ls on the same wall as the Rs - probably on the wall next to the door and behind the round table in the diagram.

You will have to find speaker wall mounts with a good range of rotation so that you can aim the speakers at each other. You could also build small shelves and just sit them on the shelf. You can compensate for the slight difference in distance to the listener with the receiver's speaker distance setup.

What about this...?

What about moving the sofa and either mounting the speakers on stands or ceiling mount them. This way you have direct line of sight to the TV and are in a better on-axis position for the speakers.
