speaker noise

turn power off on system, but continue to have "white noise" (hissing or low noise) from speakers. Only way to eliminate it is to pull the fuse? any help would be appreciated....thanks...M

What else is on the same circuit as the system? Good chance it is picking up line noise from another device. Yes, we do need at least some basic info on what gear you are using.
