Speaker models and sizes

I am looking to add towers to my setup. The problem is that the speakers I use, Quad, has two models of towers. One set has a tweeter and woofer, the other has a tweeter and two woofers. My question is that since I have a sub, would I notice a difference between the two dynamically and sonically? I have heard that normally if you dont have a sub, to get the model that produces more bass, but I have a sub, so would I even need the speaker to get that low? Also would the smaller model sound crisper? I have heard at times that the smaller speaker would sound better because there is not another woofer drawing power away from the other two drivers. Basically I am asking for advice, since I have a nice sub, should I opt for the speaker with two woofers and lower frequencies, or the speaker with one woofer, and not as low of frequencies?

Since the XO point for the woofer of the 22L is 150Hz it certainly wouldn't be doing much work. I question the validity of spending the extra money for that. The only difference between the 12L and the 21L is the larger cabinet and slight change in the crossover to get a little more bass response. With that, I'm wondering why you would want the towers at all. Assuming you cross to your sub at 80Hz the extra 10Hz gained (40Hz compared to 50Hz) in bass response doesn't look like an advantage. If you are wanting to have the option of using the sub or not (music listening perhaps) that might be a reason. Or if you want to be able to use the sub strictly for the lowest octaves only that may be another reason. If you use your sub all the time crossing at 80Hz you may be better off sticking with the standmounts which, when used with the sub, would have the better mids.
