I have a major problem here.
I need to match these electronics to some decent but not too expensive speakers. 5.1 be kickass.
svs pc-ultra
and the
70 inch sony wega
in a small 3 bedroom house.
I don't need seperates but they would be nice for the right price..
I looked at the
yamaha rx-v2600
And the
Denon AVR-3805
I would like to match up some towers, a center, and sone surround speakers to this match up as well as reciever/ seperate suggestions...
Since you are looking at a new 70" TV and the PC-Ultra, I assume you are looking at $1000-$2000 for 5.0 speakers. How much music will be listened to on this system, or will it just be for TV and movies?
That would put you in the range for some Ascend (
www.ascendacoustics.com) speakers - 3 340SEs up front (with the "base" stand for the left/right channels), and either a pair of HTM-200s or 170SEs for surrounds. Ascend speakers are known for their accuracy (flat response), musicality and soundstage.
Klipsch speakers, and to a lesser degree the I-D brand Axiom (
www.axiomaudio.com) are known for having a brighter sound. Klipsch can be found in certain retailers. Check out the Axiom website. You should be able to put together a nice set of towers (or the M22ti mini-towers), a VP150 center channel, and some dipole surrounds.
If you are looking more for "budget" stuff (despite your huge TV and huge top-of-the-line SVS sub), check out Athena speakers (good prices at
www.audioadvisor.com). You can get the F2.2(?) towers, a center, and some smaller bookshelf surrounds for a good price. These won't be on the same (sound) quality level as the Ascends, or even the other brands mentioned, but they are a bit cheaper.
You might also check out Swan, Onix (
www.av123.com), and at some nicer B&M stores, Paradigm, B&W, etc. Note that B&M speakers will cost more to get the same quality as I-D brands, unless you get stuff on sale 40-50% off.
At that price range, you might also look at a nice receiver from Pioneer, and the Harman/Kardon 7200 or 7300 digital receiver. I haven't heard about the nicer Yamaha receivers, but I have an HK receiver and they have a reputation for great sound (and understated power ratings).
