Speaker lay for this floorplan...

Well, the obvious problem is the left surround placement. Also, I can't seem to get the sub(s) placed correctly...I'm either ending up with "boomy" sound if placed too close to corners, or not getting enough punch if placed closer to the middle of the walls. I added a second sub simply to try and even things out but I'm still not totally satisfied.

How would you change the speaker arrangement with this room? I understand responses will be theoretical since you aren't present to hear any audible differences, but I'd like to get maybe get some fresh ideas.

As far as the surrounds go, its only a matter of having the proper distance set from the center seat position to each one.
As for the subs, with two, each does not need to have as high a db output compared to only using one. Try the subs with one next to the door on the 12' wall, on the side of the seats. Place the other sub between the left main and opening to the hallway. That will get rid of the boom.

Also, have you tried both subs up front to either sides of the tv?
