Hey everyone, newbie here. I have a few questions if someone wouldn't mind chiming in.
4 Speaker Setup:
I purchased an AudioControl M6800, 16 Channel, 8 Zone, 100W per Channel, 8 Ohm Amp. For one of the house zones, I bought an Origin Acoustics Speaker package which comes with (4) D38 Speakers which are 8 Ohm each and one 6" ceiling mounted Sub. The L&R speakers are small and designed to use 2 for the left channel and 2 for the right.
I will be using Zone One (2 channels bridged mono) for the sub and Zone Two (2 channels in stereo) to power the left and right speakers. My questions relates to the connection of the 4 small speakers. I wanted to verify If my understanding is correct. Connecting them in parallel would be a 2 Ohm load and could damage my amp particularly if running at higher volumes. Connecting them in parallel would be 32 ohm and would be fine but less performance. The third option that I read is that I could connect the speakers in a combo parallel/series to achieve 8 ohms and get better performance than series. Is anyone familiar with this? I have attached a wiring diagram that I found.
Dual Voice Coil:
I have one zone that has 3 smaller rooms that I am using dual voice coil speakers in each room. The spec sheet says that they are 6 Ohm speakers. Is it possible that it would be 6 ohm per voice coil since there are connectors for left and right?
Thanks in advance!
