This is kind of an off the wall question. All my speakers have the same black cloth grills on them. Over time they have gotten a little less than black though. Mind you i do wipe them ocassionally with a clean damp cloth.

Are there any kind of tricks out there to wiping them with something that keeps them nice & black? Maybe even some kind of wood cleaner or mild armor-all? I just want something that will get them nice & deep black, even a bit of sheen would be cool. I dont want to start experimenting with stuff, so thought id get some feedback.

At $60 a pop for new grilles for my mains i dont want to mess them up.

Thanks!!!

Hi. I don't know about adding color to them, but this recent thread discusses cleaning cloth grills with Woolite. Perhaps that would be worth a try? Maybe you just have some built up dust on them.

YMMV, but how about some Rit dye? People who make their own custom acoustic panels use the stuff to color the covering fabric.
