speaker connection question

I have a Kenwood VR-405 receiver along with the Kenwood KS-203HT speakers. My problem is the reciever has a connection for all the speakers except the Sub. For the sub it has a Sub pre out port, but on the back of the sub it only has places for a left and right input and ouput connection. So it looks like the sub wants regular speaker wire but there is no where on the receiver to plug it into. I hope I explained it well enough. Here is a link to the receiver and speakers if it helps.

You need a subwoofer with a built in amplifier. If your sub has RCA inputs, you should be good to go.

If your sub only has speaker inputs and outputs, you need an amplifier to go between the receiver and the sub.

You can buy "plate" amps to do this, or you may just want to get a powered sub to begin with.

Any recomendation on a cheap powered sub? I don't need anything fancy just something that will work and decent. Thanks
