speaker cavity

Can anyone tell me the proper install in cathedral ceiling for speakercraft AIM 7 three units. They share same open cavity and don't know if I should install box or purchase sound box from company or throw fiberglass on top of them. This is a new construction with no drywall on ceiling. Also if you could recommend type and amount of insulation on interior stud walls for same application. Should insulation touch any part of speaker housing?

Where is the room (attic, basement, etc) and what is above that space?

Speakercraft (and other speaker comanies) make engineered enclosed in-ceiling options. If there is a chance to exchange the current speakers for the enclosed ones, I highly recommend it. Otherwise I would definitely consider an enclosure but I would recommend speaking to Speakercraft for the exact dimensions or whether you should build one. If a speaker has an open back design it is designed that way and building an enclosure too big or small could impact you sound quality.

looks to me that they are supposed to be installed as is, in frame construction. the structure acts as the enclosure. i would just contact them.

Thanks for the input. The ceiling is in a 14 X 22 bedroom with scissors trusses. Hot roof design so no insulation above drywall ceiling. Open air for full length and width of attic. Although closed cell foam above on underside of roof substructure. Wanted to mount rear left and right surrond on 1.5/12 slope ceiling. Otherwise could mount these on back wall which is an exterior wall and would be difficult to insulate. Was told that the aim7 MT 3 could be used in ceiling but will contact company.
