speaker cable length question

hi guys,

in my situation for front speakers, i have my left speaker 2 mts from receiver, center 3 metres from receiver and right speaker 4 mts from receiver.

this may sound anal, but as far as speaker lengths go should i run them all at 4 metre lengths or 2,3 and 4 metres respectively? is there any performance difference by running them all at equal lengths?

No, there is nothing to be gained by making the speaker cables all the same length. It's an old audiophile myth.

The signal will travel down the cable at a speed of somewhere around 70% of the speed of light. Your ears won't notice any difference if one cable is 2 meters long and the other cable is 20 meters long.

The summary: keep the ratio less than 4:1 on those front 3.

There should be no detectable difference in relation to the signal reaching the speaker, as far as latency or time arrival is concerned. The only possible difference would be in the resisitance of the wire, but unless you are using ridulously thin wire (anything below 30 guage wire) combined with lengths more than 80 feet, then any effect will be neglegible.
It sounds as though you should be fine, nothing to worry about. If anyone should suggest otherwise, please require of them, a scientifically based argument for their claim.
